 After Describing the Characteristics & Cosmic Attributes Of Lord Ganesha, Atharvan Rishi Gives us the Sacred "GANESH VIDYA" i.e. the Mantra which Reveals the Sacred Form of Lord Ganesh. The Letter "GA" is to be enunciated, following by "NA" This one word Mantra is then Potentiated with the "PRANAVA" "OM". This is Sacred Mantra. (In order to make it Simpler, Atharvan Rishi Present the above easier FASHION, Remember that Knowledge was transmitted orally in those days.) "GA" is the first part, "Na" is the middle & end "UM" formed by the bindu is conjoined with the foregoing & all of them form the Sacred word. This Mantra if pronounced properly, has the power of revaling The Divine Lord Ganesh, The sage who receives the Mantra is Ganaka & the Metre is "NICHRAT GAYATRI" The Diety is Ganapati. Om 'GANG' Ganapati My salutation to you || 7 || Saying Thus, The Devotees should bow to the Lord.

 Now for the fruits from reading this hymn: The reader becomes equal to Brahma | He attains all happiness and is released from the five great sins | If one reads in the evening one is absolved of the sins committed during the day, if read in the morning the sins of the night are washed away, if read both times, one is totally absolved of all sins, read anywhere one is freed from all obstacles, one attains all the 4 objectives (Dharma, artha, kaama mokSha), one should not, however, teach this to the undeserving 5 student, if done so through infatuation, the teacher will become a sinner, read 1000 times, one achieves whatever is desired for.

 The devotee becomes a master of speech, if read on the 4th day from New Moon/Full Moon, he becomes a great scholar and he knows no fear, never.

 यो दूर्वाङ्कु॑रैर्य॒जति स वैश्रवणोप॑मो भ॒वति । यो ला॑जैर्य॒जति स यशो॑वान् भ॒वति । स मेधा॑वान् भ॒वति । यो मोदकसहस्रे॑ण य॒जति स वाञ्छितफलम॑वाप्नो॒ति । यः साज्य समि॑द्भिर्य॒जति स सर्वं लभते स स॑र्वं ल॒भते ॥ 13 ॥ yo dūrvāṅku’rairyajati sa vaiśravaṇopa’mo bhavati | yo lā’jairyajati sa yaśo’vān bhavati | sa medhā’vān bhavati | yo modakasahasre’ṇa yajati sa vāñchitaphalama’vāpnoti | yaḥ sājya sami’dbhiryajati sa sarvaṃ labhate sa sa’rvaṃ labhate || 13 || He who worships with 'duurva' flowers becomes equal to the lord of wealth (Kubera), the worshipper who uses rice flakes, becomes a man of fame and scholarship, if one uses 1000 coconut-sugar mixed rice balls, obtains whatever he desires and one who uses ghee and 'samit' sticks attains everything, everything indeed.

 aṣṭau brāhmaṇān samyag grā’hayitvā sūryavarca’svī bhavati | sūryagrahe ma’hānadyāṃ pratimāsannidhau vā japtvā siddhama’ntro bhavati | mahāvighnā”t pramucyate | mahādoṣā”t pramucyate | mahāpāpā”t pramucyate | mahāpratyavāyā”t pramucyate | sa sarva’vidbhavati sa sarva’vidbhavati | ya e’vaṃ veda | ityu’paniṣa’t || 14 ||

 By teaching this (atharva) to eight brahmins peoperly, one becomes greater than the Sun or if the idol is worshipped by chanting the mantra, at the time of the solar eclipse, by standing in a great river, one gets the effect of the mantra, he is released from great obstacles, great defects/imperfections and great sins.
